Penang Trip 2008!!

As i've explained earlier, it was a fruitful trip, with GoldSilverBronze medals clinched. Though the 3 days spent together was uber fun, i feel that the climax is still when we came in FIRST for mixed category and SECOND for our ladies team. And it was the 1st time we managed to come so far. In SIM DB history (of 3 years?), we've never gotten a gold medal before. 3 cheers!!

The journey there was much faster than expected, only 9 hrs!! After eating at the pitstop, i think i concussed all the way till we reached Penang. Heard from weiyin that the coach was moving at a very fast pace. She couldnt catch any trees or lamp post outside! Damn dangerous okay. Imagine if the driver lose his concentration, we could have been in newspaper headlines next to the Grassland accident. *CHOY*

Our hotel room is damn spacious. The biggest hotel i've stayed so far. And it doesnt have bathtub! It has rain shower instead. I dont quite like bathtub in not so reputable hotels, because i've heard alot of ghost stories about bathtub so i've kind of developed phobia towards them. hee.

See!! It can comfortably fit the whole team of 42 people inside!! We do our xmas exchange in one of the rooms.

Edrea's favourite rain shower haha.

My roomies and I. Yay i bunked with alicia again! Nice scenery eh.

Next up.. FOOOD.

Penang Trip is notorious among us for its good yet CHEAP food. I think i blogged about this last year, that the secret recipe, sakae sushi, auntie annie are half the price of SG! And this year, we had our after race dinner at the hawker, and seriously, the local delights are DAMN nice can! I absolutely loveee the Chee chong fan, so much so that i had at least 3 big plates and terence called me a chee chong fan slut -.-"

Yeah not only that, the bak gut teh, sambal stingray, carrot cake, wanton mee etc is heavenly too. Wahh if only the place is right below my house. -droools-

Oh the hotel breakfast sucks by the way. The beehoon is SO salty, and the sausage taste like plastic. The only edible stuff are the eggs, which are so popular that they were gone faster than you blink.

After all the pics are uploaded in facebook (cheers to facebook!), i had a good laugh over most of the pictures we took, cuz they are SO SILLY. If possible, i would like to blog about each and every of them, but i'm not crazy so i shall stick with some of the best.

Check out my coach and my captain's dance, while the rest were doing "london bridge is falling down" dance. Haha that's because they lost to my group while playing dog and bone. And ahem, my coach even tried to cheat blatantly as he happily rushed out when gamemaster called GIRLS ONLY.

"I've got peace by the river, i've got joy overflowing, i've got love everlasting in my soul, IN MY SOUL!"
We did this before race commenced and attracted alot of attention i think haha. Quite fun!

Adeline Ho and the prisoners of SIM dragonboat.

That's "weiren" and I. Because wr is so notorious for digging his nose in the public nonchalantly, sharon the unglam queen decided to imitate him. And she did a superb job HAHAHAH.

The forfeit....

Our last night in Penang was spent playing drinking games. I concussed after downing 2 cups of mixture of liquor. Tasted damn yucky. After i left, they began drawing on faces, back and tummy. Hahhaha hilarious!

Back to race.

i believe to a certain extent, this trip has ignited the desire to win especially in the ladies team. A team will never be able to achieve anything if that team doesnt have the hunger to win. No one will be moltivated to train hard, no one will really be pushing themselves. Hopefully this feeling will stay in us for at least 6 months, because the most important race has yet to come.

Thank you ladies, for my 1st ever ladies' race silver medal!!

Photobucket
And thank you people, for my 1st ever gold medal. =)

Check out how much we won the 2nd boat by. And guess what?? We were lagging behind by at least a dragon head 200 metres before the finishing line! Our last charge is powerful man.

All in all, it was a rewarding trip. Hopefully we will be able
to achieve as much during June Race. Let's all fight for it again! =)
