Today is the 2nd last day of 2008!! Actually, like what my dad says, 2008 in general is a catastrophic year. What with si chuan earth quake, cyclone Nargis in Myanmar, the toxic powder in china, mumbai bombings and of course, the economic downturn.

This year makes you feel like the world is coming to an end soon.

I cant think up any events thats really worth celebrating for this year. Erm perhaps like 1st successful F1 night race in Singapore?? But as soon as Singapore's reputation was built up after the event, our reputation soon went down the drain too for trapping tourists for 7 hours in the world's largest Ferris wheel.

Or maybe Obama winning the presidential election is worth popping the champagne?? This, we shall see. So 2008 sure doesnt look very bright to me.

Somehow i think 2009 will be worse, or equivalent. All the news about the economy worsening is scaring the socks out of me. And all the hearsay and rumours about who and who and whose's company isnt hiring anymore makes me wanna stay one more year in SIM. Dammit. But i'll still hope for the best!! So lets all keep our fingers cross!!

New year's eve will be spent with my fellow paddlers in ECP chalet! I'm sure it will be fun and crazy hahaha. I'm going to cut my messy hair on NYE too, cant tolerate any longer already.

So yes christmas. Christmas and the eve was spent with the bf in town. We didnt intend to hit the town on the eve for the obvious reason. But because he booked twilight wrong at cathay cineplex, we had to go down personally to change. What a screwed up system. U click wrongly, u go down and change. No calls, no emails entertained.

Highlight of christmas was definitely the high-tea buffet at carousel!! Their local delights are damn yummy, though i wasnt really satisfied, prolly because there arent any seafood or succulent meat this time round. Oh well, so this means dinner buffet next time?? hehe. Oh the price was $37 per head. Cuz its P.holiday, its more ex. :)

My favourite!

We noticed that the crowds were different too, on the eve and the christmas. For the former, there are generally more youngsters (armed with superb annoying spray cans), friends in groups and couples. And for the latter, there are more maids, blangadeshi workers and the elderly.

These middle aged people were dancing for damn long!!

On the eve of christmas eve, i met up with By, Yh and sebas! He had just rescued a stray doggie which i thought looks like a reindeer!

The spots on her back resembles that of a reindeer, but sebas says it looks more like his tiles. -.- poor doggie. She's so, so skinny! Sebas is looking for rehome for her, as he wouldnt be able to take care of it once he fly back to aussieland next year. And she's so gentle, so tame. How i wish i can bring her home. I'm sure Oreo will quite like her. =)

We had wanted to dine at chomp chomp, but after gathering from various sources stating that the food is nice but overrated, and yet quite expensive, we decided to head to chinatown food centre instead!! Wise choice, because we get to eat the yummiest claypot rice in SG. It was a tuesday night, and yet we have to wait for 45 mins. My family and I once waited for over an hour if i'm not wrong. But its worth the wait lah haha.

Its very heaty and i have a bit of sorethroat the next day. But thats cuz we ordered satays, carrot cakes, fried prawn mee and fried oyster too. I swear my face became fishball-er that night. :(

Tmr will be BBQ at chalet again. Say hi to calories again!
