Anyway, after Singapore Singtel inaugural's hosting of Formula 1 Grand Prix, I'm starting to see the sports in different light. No wonder CSY is so gaga over it, which before this, none of us can understand why. My bro has tickets to the friday's preview but wr and i decided we have better things to do so we gave it a miss. ARGH! We should have went!! My family and wr were glued to the TV on sunday during the race final. So much so that we gobbled down our dinner and ran back to the sofa, leaving my poor mum alone to clean up. Sunday's race was so drama packed, which i think, makes the whole thing even more interesting.
And though i'm not exactly the patriotic kind, my heart still swell with pride when watching the skyline of the night view of my country. And also knowing that some 130 millions of people are watching my country glittering like a jewel. Haha but hopefully all this publicity about Uniquely Singapore will chase aways all the financial market instability and the impending reccession, because i'm graduating next year!!! =S
I forgot to mention that i went to be a relief teacher for kindergarden kids on tuesday! I was on my way home from giving tuition one day when i saw the notice. Its a PAP kindergarden. It was quite tiring but fun, because tues was Childrens' day celebration, so all the kids wore party clothes to school. They are only coming to school for party. How nice right. So they brought all kinds of food, from cakes to biscuits to crackers to fried nuggets to FISHBALLS! Haha and obviously i joined in and eat up the fishballs too. Basically, i played musical chairs with them, do sing along session and pop confetti at them (and they went really crazy).
Wed was public holiday so no school!! Went rowing in the morning and head to town with wr after that. Ate our long awaited sushi at Nihon Mura and walked around, before heading to bugis to get a watch for his dad. All thanks to yaya, who intro me to bencoolen shopping centre! We got him this classic looking Emporio Armani watch. Retail price is about $300+, that shop selling at $295 and after a 25% discount we got it for only $221!!! Hahhaha so happy ok! Heres the pic:

Nice right!! Very classic, very mature for a daddy =)
Ok back track a little. Wr and i was in town when we saw that Istana was open to the public cuz its a P.holiday. We skipped in happily with our big bag, training stuff and not forgetting flip flops.
Beyond the grand entrance was a huge patch of grass + a pond with swans. We walked and walked and after about 10 minutes of endless walk, to our HORROR, we saw another huge gate. We presume that the main building might be another 5 KM away? We never see what lies behind the gate cuz both of us turned back and head for the exit hahaha. We were too tired from walking so we promise to make a comeback once we are alot fitter haha. No pictures of Istana's grass patch cuz i forgot to bring the camera. I took pictures using my 1.3 mega pixels camera, of the swans in the pond, but wr says its looks like aliens landing instead. Haha so forget it im not going to upload.
The most unforgettable part of the day/night has to be the journey back home. It was PACKED with ah n*hs ok!! They boarded the train at Outram park and pushed their way into the train like they are in their native country. SO scary! And the best/worst thing is their smell is so overpowering! Wr and i resort to smelling each other's neck when the train begins to move after every station, cuz thats when diffusion takes place. GRRRR. I swear i got headaches after the train ride. The bane of residing in the west area. =(
Okay i'm going off. Ciao.
