THIS ENTRY CONTAINS HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS SPOILERS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Awwww the Harry Potter series has ended. After so many years of speculating what will the final conclusion be like, i was quite please and a little (just a teeny weeny bit) disappointed that Harry didn't die. I don't know why, but isn't it always more dramatic that tragic heroes will end up dying and will be remembered forever, that sort of thing?
2 chapters through the book and i already felt my heart ache. That was when Hedwig, Harry's snowy owl, got killed and got blown up(ouch!). I have to stop myself from imagining the scene.
4 chapters through the book, i feel like chucking my book away and quit reading, because i was SO VERY afraid of the ending! I fear that the ending would be that Ron or Hermione or both of them will die! Yes i would rather Harry die than his two best friends got killed. Somehow, in the process of reading, you will place yourself in Harry's shoe, put yourself in his predicament and even at times, imagine yourself to be him. Therefore, in such cases, i would rather i die than the people around me whom i love so much, die for me. Am i making any sense here?
Towards the end of the book when the house elf Dobby died, i was bereaved and my mind automatically had flashback of memories on how Dobby had helped Harry ever so willingly. And Dobby had died helping Harry, which makes the whole thing seemed even sadder. This is the only death in the book which i feel like crying. sob sob.
The chapter on The battle of Hogwarts was the epic. I held my breathe while reading every single line, ever single page, until i saw that one of my favourite character Fred Weasley got killed. This, i was too shocked to react, and hence it dont really feel anything. I always have a hunch that one of the weasley is gotta be killed off and i secretly hope it will be Percy. After reading it and the realisation sinks in, i consoled myself that at least George Weasley is still around to carry on with Weasley Wizard Weezes.
My favourite chapter in the book has got to be The Prince's Tale. Reading it made me almost teary because i was simply so touched by Severus Snape! I always believed him to be a good guy even though J.K Rowling portrays him as a bad egg in all of the books before this. Truth is out, and his loyalty actually lies in Dumbledore, not Voldermort. And even more surprising is that he did actually care about Harry as much as any one, and was protecting him even till the end. Like Harry said, he's probably the bravest man he ever know. Yes, i think he is the bravest character in the book. And not to mention he had loved Lily Evans all her life that his patronus is the same as hers too, a Doe. I'm so touched when i read that! Snape is so so poor thing ok.
'I have spied for you, and lied for you, put myself in mortal danger for you. Everything was supposed to be to keep Lily Potter's son safe. Now you tell me you have been raising him like a pig for slaughter-'
'But this is touching, Severus,' said Dumbledore seriously. 'Have you grown to care for the boy, after all?'
'For him?' shouted Snape.
'After all this time?'
'Always,' said snape.
Yes and this is the part where i feel like sobbing. What an unexpected twist of story. J.K Rowling really deserves to be the richest woman man.
The last chapter of the book was a letdown, i feel. It didnt exactly explained what happened to the remaining characters like Luna Lovegood, George, Percy, Fleur(phlegm), bill and so on! Yea although we do see some descendants of the trio (which i particularly like Albus Severus Potter, for the obvious reason), but it still wasn't as good as what the author promised it would be.
So that really is the end of the book. The boy who lived, really lived. And so did his best friends! -sigh of relieve-
News reports stated that J.K Rowling will most probably write another book called the encyclopedia of Hogwarts. It's to explain further on each and every character and what happens to them. Needless to say, i'm gotta buy that too!
