Our escape to the wildlife. :)

(This is the second time i'm typing out the entry. My previous entry vanished on me after i took like an hour to type it gggrrr!!! Hence, it is purely out of willpower that i'm re-blogging again.)

We(or rather he) finally managed to fork out time to go on our long awaited zoo trip. Weather was merciful on us. Apart from the occasional drizzle, the weather was not as bad as expected! Because the weather was really eccentric for the past few weeks, we armed ourselves with everything we can think of. From umbrellas to windbreakers to cap and sunglasses, because u'll never know when it will rain or shine. In the end we didnt use any of those, cuz we got quite excited on wearing ponchos heh.

Seems like taupok, soyabean and oil are not the only one facing inflation. Zoo tickets as well! Entry to zoo + night safari + night safari tram cost him 80 bucks for two! And sad to say there's no promotion for tertiary students. I think its so expensive!! I think i paid only about 10+ for the ticket to zoo 4 years back. Weiren can't even recall when was the last time he went to zoo haha.

Yueru says that all she could see was zebra's backsides the last time she went to zoo under rainy condition. So either i'm very lucky to be able to see the entire clan, or the zebras have learn to appreciate the rain over the years.

How often do u see animals lying like that on their back! She laid in that position for quite long until i screamed for him to take a picture of it.

We only managed to catch the feedings of white tigers, polar bear, hippopotamus, seal, penguines and orang utans.

A very majestic looking white tiger. White tigers are not albino. They are white because of their rare genes and only 1 in 100,000 are white!

Hehehe the baboons and their gross red asses which we think looks more like brain. They lived in HUGE number. I think there are at least 5 generations in there!

We happily forgot to pack our own lunch so we had no choice but to dine there. Guess how much that plate cost?? $11.50!!! The fishballs alone friggin cost 2 bucks! I was really contemplating whether to buy it or not but greediness got better of me. boohoo.

The orang utans are cutee! Their behaviour is so human-like that we spent half an hour watching them. The baby orang utan looks so cute when he was cuddled by the zoo keeper. If not for their hair, i would have put it inside my bag and bring home!

While waiting for the 2nd part of the day. We had to wait for one half hours before we can enter night safari. So we ate pizza, KFC, Bongo burger and Ben&Jerry while waiting. And as you already guessed, the food is damn expensive too. Even the cheese fries is more costly in the zoo as compared to outside. But the most hideous ones are the local cuisine. We had wanted to eat a nice bowl of piping hot prawn noodle but we ran away after looking at the price. Its 17 bucks for that normal looking noodle!! And 15 bucks for chicken rice! Even the angmohs arent that stupid to buy! The eatery is called ULU safari restaurant, and trust me, its really ULU with no patrons.

We are not allowed to take flash photography in the safari so we didnt managed to take any pictures of the animals. The tram ride was interesting as some of the harmless creatures like deers and this pig look alike creature were so close to us! We can easily reach out and give them a little pat, but i decided against it lest they eat up my fingers.

We took a stroll along the trails after the ride. It was pretty scary actually. The scariest was when we walked into this enclosed mangrove area where it stated that there will be bats flying around, and that they are not in anyway threatening. There were at least 100 bats zooming above us, across us, in all directions! I think those bats are actually quite blind and dumb to notice us. Few bats nearly crashed into us okay so scary! We screamed and ran so fast out of the area! I think no one dared to enter after that haha.

The suspension bridge that looks quite ghostly.

Home sweet home!
