2 weeks before River Regatta Race 2007...
Singapore DragonBoat Association(SDBA) invited SIM team to their annual dinner held at safra-mountfaber. So for the first time in months i saw my fellow team mates all dressed up, and not clad in singlets, jerseys and FBTs (or even topless!). Not everyone turned up though. I went mainly because of the free dinner haha. I heard each table was about 2000bucks, which makes it 200 bucks per head. Luckily all of us dont have to pay a single cent because the food suck damn bad! pui. The food was bad but the company was good! So it makes the night a rather good one in the end heh. =)

1 day before River Regatta Race 2007...
We had our Prep Talk before the race as well as handling out of jerseys and SIM windbreaker. It's a nice feeling to have the entire team squeezed into a room, watching videos of previous year's regatta race, knowing a little what's it like to be in a real race. At least i know i'm not the only one that's feeling the adrenaline rush! As usual, we cam whore wearing our new dragonboat black tee and jerseys.
This is Alicia Ang and she is my favouritest rowing partner. She yaks alot though she denies it so frequently hehe. I bet she's gotta whack me if she happened to see this.

River Regatta Race 2007!!!
Yes it's finally here. The day we trained so hard for. Rushing to kallang straight away after lecture at 630. Having to eat dinner at 10pm during those night rowing session. The period where we bath in kallang more often than we bath at home. The days where i see my team-mates more often than i see my family. And it was those days that the team bonded together, urging one another not to give up. We shared our highs and lows during the hectic four times a week rowing session. It was all for this day.
That's half of the race course at Singapore River. The water there is SO MUCH saltier than that of Kallang. I always thought kallang is the champion.
The 20-men dragonboat. I felt like pee-ing when i was inside the smaller boat, waiting for the horn thing to go off. Damn scary ok! But the good thing about dragonboat is that there are people beside you behind you infront of you, and they are in this together so i didnt feel so bad!

This girl came alone to support me through 2 races!! I was superb happy and touch to see her there! 1st race started at 9.05am mind you and she was there! I love my bestie. =)
SIM came in first for mixed events (minor finals) and first for mens (minor finals). It was quite a happy ending to the race.
